Music Mo'nday: Dec. 5
A new weekly feature that clues you in to what's playing at the Gay Place

It's been a while since we've weighed in on the homo-phonic sounds, but we're back with the queer beat. Each week, we'll recap what's hot in music worldwide and locally, and we'll have playlist picks from hot local DJs as well. Let's get it on.
Lana Del Rey released the first official single from her debut album Born to Die, due out January 31. (Stay tuned for an entire blog post about Lana.) The title track has a great neo-noir/dubstep feel, but it's disappointing she wussed out exchanging the first four-letters of "fuck you hard in the pouring rain" from the song's previous lyrical incarnation, to k-i-s-s. But hey, we'll take a kiss with tunes like this.
I'm still being hypnotized by local narco-rockers Pure X's album Pleasure. Check out the odd video for the hazy "Surface."
FInally, in the spirit of returns, the best song about getting back in the game:
Local Top Faggy Fives
"Pyramid" - Four Tet
"Kaledescopic Ecstasy" - Space Dimension Controller
"The Colors" - Sneaky Soundsystem
"My Shadow" - Sound of Arrows
"Raconte-Moi Une Histoire" - M83
