Where to Watch the Big Game in Austin

By Sierra Diaz, February 3, 2017, 3:30pm, On the Range

It’s that time of the year again, where the world gathers around to watch the big game (or at least the halftime performance). Whether you’ve decided to host your friends, head out to a bar or restaurant, or just watch the game alone in your jammies, we’ve got you covered with wings, beer, nachos, and everything else you'll need to tackle the day.

Watch parties

Revelry Kitchen + Bar
Friends & Allies will be taking over the taps, offering $5 drafts. And chef Teddy Simon is going bold with specials like smoked pulled pork sliders.

The Dogwood Rock Rose
Switch up your game day plans with a “super boil” (get it? get it? nudge, nudge) party from 2-11pm featuring crawfish and more than 30 screens plus a 40 ft. projector if you really have to see that much of Tom Brady. $20.

Aviator Pizza
All day happy hour specials like $1 off pints and $1 glasses of wine keep your game day affordable. Plus, order their 14-inch El Nacho pizza and you'll get free chicken wings. Score!

Punch Bowl Social
Enjoy your last football Sunday of the season with an all you can eat buffet featuring all your favorites. Real Ale Brewing Company, Shock Top, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Budweiser, and Red Bull will all be on-site, giving out samples and swag. $35.

Salvation Pizza
Enjoy $2.50 pizza slices, $4 apps, or go all out with a large two-topping pizza and 10 wings combo for $20. Of course, draft and pitcher specials will be available should your team miss the goalposts.

W Austin
We know that for many football means BarcaLoungers and beer, but we like to keep things fancy. W's viewing party starts at 4pm with happy hour specials all night and complimentary giant subs during halftime.

North Door

Watch the Falcons battle the Patriots on a 25 ft. HD screen while throwing back drink specials and Pueblo Viejo tacos. Or ignore the game. See if we care!

Uncle Billy’s Brew & Que
Maybe you'll lose your shirt betting on the game, but Uncle Billy's giveaways after each quarter might be some compensation. The appetizer and beer specials will help too.

Whisler’s
With the game playing on a projector screen, and multiple TVs around the bar inside and outside, you won’t miss a single commercial. There's also a complimentary spread, drink specials, and more in case you need more convincing.

The Rattle Inn
Watch the game on the rooftop. The burgers and hot dog specials are so cheap, you can afford to throw one at the opposing side (note: do not do that). Doors open at noon.

The Local Post Pub
You know that 10 lb. can of nachos you've been seeing all over everyone's Instagram? You're gonna want to get in on that for the big day.

Takeout

Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon
Make hosting a watch party easier with Fresa’s snacks like wood-grilled wings, jalapeño poppers, totally loaded queso, and seven-layer dip and chips. We won't tell if you keep an extra order squirreled away for yourself. Preorder is available but not necessary.

General Tso’Boy
Take home sweet & sour wings or ribs marinated in homemade Chinese barbecue sauce. It will give you all the fuel you'll need for passionately debating Lady Gaga's performance. Limited availability, call ahead.

Santa Rita Cantina
Impress your friends with a delicious game day spread of fajitas, jalapeño wings, and nachos. Then throw them out of your house the minute they start cheering the Patriots.

Mongers Market + Kitchen
Smoked fish dip, smoked salmon, peel 'n eat shrimp, poke, ceviche, chowder, carb cakes, gumbo. You might be stuffing your face so much you'll miss the highlights of the game. Order online here.

Mangia Pizza
Pizza and football is like Justin Timberlake and poor choices. So naturally, Mangia is offering an XL one-topping pizza for only $10 on Sunday, perfect for those freeloaders who show up at your house 30 minutes before the game.

Freedmen’s
If brisket, ribs, and sausage don't satisfy your guests, they are probably weird lizard people who probably want to eat you instead. Freedmen's ready to go special ($240) for 10-12 people includes the holy trinity of meats, horseradish potato salad, grilled cabbage slaw, and all the fixin’s with plates, plasticware, and napkins. Preorder with same-day pickup at 4pm on Sunday.

RA Sushi
Change up your game day routine with sushi. RA is offering $20 off a catering purchase of $100 or more. Choices like spring rolls or a combo sushi platter will make your party the one to beat.
