Rare Beer Comes to Banger's, Farm to Feast Debuts

By Brandon Watson, February 17, 2016, 3:05pm, On the Range

Revival Public House gets cozy with local breweries, the Takedown calls all local meatball makers, and more.

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden is on a mission to make your after-work beer even more awesome. Their “Cellar Release Wednesdays” series will tap a rare beer each week. Tonight, they will break out Dogfish Head Brewery’s Fort, a high ABV (17%!) Belgian-style ale brewed with raspberries.

In other brew news, Circle Brewing is taking over the new Revival Public House this Friday, Feb. 19 from 4-7pm. Circle will be featuring their Hop Overboard session IPA made with habanero peppers and pineapple. The next day, (512) Brewing rolls up from 2-5pm for a tap afternoon.

Matt Timms will be back in Austin again this year for another Takedown, pitting home cooks in a meatball battle royale for cookware prizes from Wüsthof, Cuisinart, Analon, and Microplane. The event itself will be held at Shangri-La on March 13, 2-4pm, but email matt@thetakedowns.com now if you are a meatball baller. Stereo and tasting cups will be provided, you just bring the balls of glory.

Tickets are still on sale for Farmgrass’ first Farm to Feast fundraiser held at Tillery Place featuring bites from Odd Duck and Farmhouse Delivery, beer from Independence Brewery, and music from the Gravy Brothers. The March 3 event benefits Central Texas farmers with funds for critical medical issues.
