Rock Rose becomes mini entertainment district

Hey North Austinites! Tired of listening to your East Austin friends prattle on like they are the only ones who have ever heard of Ancho Reyes and micro-celery? Do you wish that at least one person at your table was not dressed like American Horror Story: Coven? Lucky you, it’s becoming increasingly easy to avoid them altogether.
Today Jeff and Darren Van Delden of Union Venture Group announced that they were opening four new concepts in the new Rock Rose area of the Domain this Fall. The concepts will share one big space, but much like the members of the Baby-Sitter’s Club, each will have separate identities.
77° will take the rooftop, featuring rum cocktails. The Rose Room (not to be confused with Dallas’ same titled “premiere show bar for gender illusion”) will be a fancy two-story dance club. Saint Genevieve will also have a DJ, but in a more relaxed lounge setting with nibbles. And Jack & Ginger’s Irish Pub will have a bunch of beer (82 on tap to be exact, you old sot).
In addition to the “art-infused streetscape surrounded by unexpected discoveries and bustling with visitors,” that the press release promises, the space will also have plentiful parking. We won't blame North Austinites if they now feel a little smug.
