Turkey Trot Art Contest Seeking Submissions

By Virginia B. Wood, August 15, 2014, 10:30am, On the Range

Austin's homegrown ThunderCloud Subs hosts the Turkey Trot every Thanksgiving Day to benefit Caritas of Austin. And while contestants often show up to run in artful costumes, the most important piece of art associated with the annual event is the logo that represents it. That's where you come in.

The annual art contest is open to everyone from emerging school-age Norman Rockwells to established graphic design professionals. The winner receives gift certificates for 365 subs and the gratification of seeing their artwork depicted on t-shirts, ads, posters, event guides, and splashed across social media.

"It's always fun to see the artwork people come up with. This event is all about engaging our community, and the contest really kicks that off every year," said ThunderCloud co-owner Mike Haggerty in a press release.

The art contest deadline is Saturday, September 6 and the winner will be announced on Monday, September 15. For the official contest rules and complete Turkey Trot information, go here.
