Jacoby's Opens Next Week

By Virginia B. Wood, August 14, 2014, 2:00pm, On the Range

Fourth generation rancher and second generation restaurateur Adam Jacoby brings his family's ranch-inspired, rustic Southern cuisine to East Austin. The new eatery opens for business in a remodeled electrical warehouse located on a rapidly-changing stretch of E. Cesar Chavez on Wednesday, Aug. 20th.

The Jacoby family hails from the tiny ranching community of Melvin in McCullouch County, north and west of Austin. They raise their own beef and serve it in their country restaurant there. The Jacoby restaurant here will be the only place in Austin selling the family beef brand.

According to today's press release, Adam Jacoby will run the restaurant and the kitchen will be under the direction of chef Phillip Anderson. Anderson's menu will include favorites from the original Jacoby's as well as dishes developed to appeal to Austin diners with plenty of seasonal vegetables to complement the quality beef. Jacoby's will offer full bar service, including custom cocktails and local craft beers served on the deck overlooking the river.

The building will also include a mercantile operation stocking artisan jams, jellies, meats, farm eggs, fresh flowers, and home goods.
