Allons, mes amis. Vive la France! Austinites are always up for festivities and what better reason to party than the independence of France? Several local French-themed businesses have celebrations planned for the annual holiday. Save the plane fare and party here.

Saturday, July 12

* The French Legation Museum (802 San Marcos) and the Alliance Française d'Austin host their annual Bastille Day 2014 celebration on the shady grounds of the historic museum. This family-friendly event offers traditional French food, wine, beer, games, family entertainment, music, and dancing. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets but no outside food or drinks. Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at the gate, and children 12 and under are free. Monday, July 14 * The Artisan Bistro (900 RR 620 South) once again invites families to the parking lot outside the restaurant for an evening of French food, drinks, games, music, and dancing. They also promise the biggest cream pie fight ever! No admission, no reservations. July 14, 5-10pm

* Mulberry (360 Nueces) Chef Kristine Kittrell and sous chef Daniel Medina invite you to enjoy a French dinner of housemade sausages, ratatouille, pesto couscous, watermelon salad, lentils de Puy, and blackened eggplant puree with toast paired with a glass of French rosé for $25 (all inclusive). * Chez Nous (510 Neches) Austin's oldest French bistro presents a very special Bastille Day celebration dinner. July 14, 6-10:30pm

* Épicerie Cafe & Grocery (2307 Hancock Dr.) In addition to the regular French-inspired menu items here, new cheesemonger, Daniel Largess, has stocked many new French cheese for the occasion and will be offering a French cheese plate with a glass of wine for $15. July 14, 10:30am-9:30pm
