In Queso Emergency Concert Tribute to Jill Lewis

By Virginia B. Wood, July 26, 2013, 2:55pm, On the Range

Come out to Stubb's on Sunday night to hear several of Jill's favorite bands play the music she loved and contribute to the fund set up to cover her remaining medical bills.

Austin Slow Burn co-founder Jill Lewis had a huge legion of friends and fans of her brand of fiery food products. When she was diagnosed with cancer in the spring, everyone wanted to help out any way they could. Sadly, Jill was gone before any benefits could even be organized, but there's still a chance to help out. Her family was left with a mountain of medical bills associated with her care, so some local musicians are playing a tribute concert in her honor.

Homegrown guitar hero Charlie Sexton headlines the concert bill, which also includes local favorites Malford Milligan performing with the John Gaar Band. Filling out the evening will be Cashman and the Road House Rockers.

Music will be on the indoor stage at Stubb's (801 Red River) from 7-11pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.

If you can't join us for the show, please consider donations to the In Queso Emergency fund via PayPal.
