Peached Tortilla Does Austin Proud on Network TV

Viewers and local fans have an opportunity to vote

Austin food truck entrepreneur Eric Silverstein appeared on LIVE with Kelly & Michael this morning, helping the perky hostess prepare the Peached Tortilla's signature barbecue brisket taco. Now his future is in the hands of online voters.

We told you all about LIVE's Truckin' Amazing Cook-Off in yesterday's post. Now that the Peached Tortilla segment has aired, viewers and fans of the Austin food truck have the opportunity to vote for them to stay in the contest. The voting period started at 10am CST this morning and runs until 10am CST Sunday, June 16.

After all ten contestants have appeared on the show, the four trucks with the most votes will be invited back to New York City to appear in a final cook-off to be evaluated by a panel of judges. The wining truck will go home with $20,000 and everyone who votes online is automatically entered in a contest to win a $500 gift card from Omaha Steaks.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me. Just FYI, Peached Tortilla owner Eric Silverstein is responsible for the wonderful Trailer Food Tuesdays the end of every month on the Long Center Terrace. So show an Austin entrepreneur some love for giving back to the community and for representing our city's food scene so well on national television. Vote while you can!
