Drink Local Beer, Support Local Youth

By R.U. Steinberg, June 21, 2012, 10:51am, On the Range

There are precious few opportunities to drink beer and feel like you are giving back to the community. But on June 28, Hops and Grain and East Side Glass are going to let you do just that.

The neighboring businesses have been teaming up on a regular basis for "Hot Glass, Cold Beer" events where people get to sample beer and watch people making glass.

This time, they are going to auction off some glass art pieces to benefit disadvantaged youth through Community Glass House, a non-profit whose mission is to empower the community through the experience of creating with glass while inspiring forward thinking and sustainability. Note:This will the last "Hot Glass, Cold Beer" event of the season.

The event will take place 7-10 p.m. June 28. Hops and Grain will be graciously donating beer and East Side Glass now has an air conditioned gallery--a great refuge from the heat.

Hops and Grain and East Side Glass are at 507 Calles -- just take East Sixth Street going east until it dead ends.
