'Step Into the Black' party

Party Time With the Captain

Captain Morgan is celebrating its new dark spiced rum Captain Morgan Black with a U.S. party tour, bringing the festivities to Austin last Wednesday. Mercury Hall has never seen such a sexy crowd.

The new, nicely packaged spirit gives Malibu Black a run for its money with a finer flavor and higher quality than other dark rums. The Caribbean masterpiece has a hint of coconut mixed in with the bite and is as delicious as it is easy to drink, taking you to the beach with its distinct, sweet and spicy rum goodness. From the drinks down to the Ilios lighting, the celebration was well produced, with live music from The War on Drugs followed by fabulous DJ Rapid Ric bumping out the old jams. In between the Captain Morgan Black Knights (an amaretto-coke concoction) and rum and ginger beers, fusion food trailer Coreanos gave away free Korean tacos for the hungry crowd of press and VIPs. The new addition to the Captain product line adds some refinement and maturity to the brand and is sure to be all over Austin in many-a-delicious cocktails.
