Moontower Comedy Fest: Comics to Watch

From April 22-25, over 100 comics will takeover 11 venues around the city for the Moontower Comedy Festival. In only three years, the festival has featured stars like Aziz Ansari, Seth Meyers, Amy Schumer and local faves like Chris Cubas and Brendon Walsh.
We could wax poetic about the featured comedians but it's probably better to just show you the hilarity you can expect.
Here are ten comics we can't wait to see this year:
Wanda Sykes Featured on MADtv, Chappelle's Show, her own Wanda Sykes Show, Sykes' career has spanned decades and styles. Her act starts at 7pm on April 24, at the Paramount Theater. Marc Maron Host of WTF with Marc Maron, this comedy vet has remained popular name through his radio hosting slots and numerous appearances on shows like Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Late Show with David Letterman. He will be headlining on April 23, at 9:30pm at the Paramount Theater. Ron White Known for his trademark cigar and scotch, the Blue Collar Comedian has been nominated for Grammy Awards and toured across the country for over 20 years. Watch "Tater Salad" at The Paramount, April 22 at 8pm. Michelle Buteau The word "sassy" doesn't begin to describe this NYC comedian. You may recognize Buteau from her regular hosting gig on VH1's Morning Buzz and appearances on Key and Peele and The Eric Andre Show. She's slated to perform at 4 venues over the course of the festival. View performance times here. Simon Amstell This award-winning English comedian has hosted Popworld, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and starred in his own series titled, Grandma's House. He will be performing throughout the festival at various showcases. Ted Alexandro Ted Alexandro is the co-creator of the award-winning web series Teacher's Lounge and has been featured on Jimmy Kimmel, Craig Ferguson and Comedy Central specials. View performance times here. Hasan Minhaj His web series 'The Truth with Hasan Minhaj' has been featured in The Huffington Post, Gawker, and New York Times. He has been seen on Arrested Development, HBO's Getting On, and Comedy Central. See his show times here. Byron Bowers Bowers was named "Comedy Act to Watch" by LA Weekly in 2013 and has been unstoppable since. He has appeared on The Eric Andre Show, BET's Comic View and The Pete Holmes Show. Brian Gaar With his debut album Never Gonna Be Famous reaching #2 in Itunes, this Austin-based favorite is well on his way to comedy stardom. His special Jokes I Wrote at Work is available now and you can always expect something hilarious from his Twitter. Check out his show times here. Liza Treyger Creator and co-producer of the Riot Comedy showcase, Treyger has honed her skills at festivals like The Bridgetown Comedy Festival and Just for Laughs Chicago.
