Soulful, funky, fun – these Blues brothers are keeping the Blues alive. The duo consists of Glenn Peterson on guitar and Alex Peterson on Bass. Alex slapped the bass and Glenn performed funky solo guitar sets – small stage, big performance.
As the audience sat captivated, the Peterson Brothers transitioned from their solo sets to climactic, deep sounds that left the crowd cheering for more. Did I mention these boys are 14 and 16-years-old?
Though the brothers were utterly amazing, they kept their down-to-earth mentality – literally. Glenn was the first to sit at the front-edge of the stage; little brother Alex followed behind him. Photographers and videographers rushed in, and the Blues flowed from the speakers like exotic smoke traveling the room, soon to tantalize and hypnotize the diverse crowd.
Little dancing ensued – the venue hit its capacity of 300 eager listeners. Shoulder to shoulder, elbow to elbow, everyone made friends. Sponsors such as Capital Metro and Discount Electronics as well as Austin’s Pizza, Tito’s Vodka and Firestone Walker helped bring together a banging party.
The Blues doesn’t stop here – step into The Continental Club on a Monday night where the Peterson Brothers frequently play. Oh, and you can find them onstage at ACL this year. Don’t be blue, get out there and see what the Austin music scene has to offer. Stay tuned for details on the June edition of the Paper Cuts Live Music Series!
