Royers Pie Haven in Round Top is a pie lover's heaven. This is the popular Royers Cafe's little brother of a coffee shop.

You can get desserts, espresso drinks, sodas, Amy's ice creams, and a dozen different kinds of pie. They also have lunch pies that are a meal by themselves. The cherry and apple pies are awesome, but I don't want to sway you from trying your favorite. They probably have it.

Bud Royer's heavyweight pies are world famous – at least in Texas, and to the folks in the path of Hurricane Sandy. Right before Thanksgiving, Bud and a group of friends hauled 650 pies – enough to feed 5,000 – to the areas hardest hit by the storm. The crew delivered pies and gift cards to two sites in New York, including Rockaway Beach, and three in New Jersey. "It was a wonderful experience," Bud said from his chair at the front door of the cafe. "It was a real pleasure to do what we could."

Royers Pie Haven is in an old farmhouse moved to Henkel Square in Round Top. Enjoy your slice of pie at the living room tables or under the towering oaks on the patio.
