GAY BARS OUT THE YIN-YANG So now we don't have just a million and one gay, gay-themed, and/or gay-friendly events to dig up, investigate, schedule, and rattle off; we also have almost as many clubs. Seriously. Gay clubs be reproducin' like horny teenage rabbits on spring break the day the condoms expire. Sheesh. Even Your Style Avatar, one Stephen MacMillan Moser, covers one of them in his "After a Fashion" column this week – Hush in the old Scorum, ummm, we mean Forum location Downtown on Congress. But Hush is not the only one. You already know about Rusty Spurs becoming Rusty's and last season's opening of new bear bar the Iron Bear, yes? Well, add to your list. We've not yet been to Hush, nor have we been to Town N Country (hey, thanks for the invites, dudes at both places), but we have been frequenting our neighborhood bar, Bernadette's, in the digs of the former Airport Club & Grill. As soon as we can get to the others, we'll give you the rundown on these new bars on the block and fill you in on which ones have the "right stuff" (ouch, sorry). FEEL MY OMNIPOTENCE IF JUST FOR AN HOUR Best event concept/title of the week: Skee-Ra vs. Skee-Ra. Yup, it's the face-off between two princesses of power for the right to use that awesome moniker as a skeeball alias. Go, Skee-Ra! (See Wednesday.)
