VOTE for Proposition 4 and all the propositions to make Austin a better place for all of us.
PARTY POOPED A nightmarish week of partying. The parties weren't nightmarish, just the schedule. The ultra-glam party the Long Center's Dennis Karbach threw for his partner, Robert Brown, had major attendance from the art world. The next night was the Austin Lyric Opera's Perfect 10 event at Saks Fifth Avenue a great event honoring James Armstrong, Jane Sibley, Vickie Roan, and so many other great citizens. Saks was just amazing; what a makeover they've been through. World-class shopping, so stylish and chic. Then came the cultivation party for Zach Scott at Jim Bob and Laurée Moffett's home, and it was, well, pretty grand. What a palace! The Zac Posen fashion show at the Austin Museum of Art gala A Look for Love was sublime. Clothes so glamorous you could die. And what a doll he is so charming and sweet you'd hardly know he was the hottest designer on Earth right now. We visited with him, along with Lizzie Jagger (Mick's daughter with Jerry Hall, who was also there with her brother, Chris) and the 20-foot-tall Erin O'Connor, who both modeled Zac's clothes with dazzling hauteur. And just to show Maria Groten how much I love her, I missed out on hanging with Mick Jagger at the event's VIP afterparty just so I could attend her birthday party. But how could I complain, when she'll be attending my birthday party this week ... along with half of Austin it seems.
AND Speaking of fashion shows, don't miss my upcoming show at Antone's on Thursday, Nov. 16, with a slew of glamorous models and fabulous clothes, of course. More info to come.
BELLS ARE RINGING Congratulations to Claudia Voyles and Lee Edwards upon their marriage (at the legendary Club 21 in Uhland, Texas). Best of everything to them.
