[[perthousand]]A Day Without Art/Night Without Light asks folks to gather at the Franklin Federal Building, 111 Congress, 6pm, for a silent candlelit walk to the Capitol, where performance artist Sally Jacques will guide participants in laying side-by-side on the Capitol grounds, creating a dramatic piece of public performance art, Body Count, 7:30pm, culminating in a Celebration of Life featuring Tina Marsh, Lourdes Peréz, and more. 472-5227.

*Check out the Do the Wright Thing Art Auction, Sun., Dec. 3, 5pm, 200 Colorado St. Esther's Follies' Amos Ewing (does the name just scream auctioneer or what?) will make with the going once-going twice SOLD! Steven Dorster and Will Sexton play while complimentary chow is scarfed. The free event features 100 works by Austin artist David Erickson. The sales benefit the HIV Wellness Center and the 125-year-old Wright Home which the organization is currently renovating to use as rent-free, new offices. 469-7885 or 472-7253.
*We promised more details about this year's Holiday Bizarre Bazaar at City Grill (through Dec. 23, 5:30-10:30pm, nightly); so here goes: Over 150 area businesses contribute gift certificates ranging from $5 to $150 for the month-long sale. You pay the list price of the certificate (redeemable for an equal amount of goods), and every dollar benefits ASA's Paul Kirby Fund, the emergency account for the over 1,000 folks living with the AIDS virus here in Austin. Here are some of the goods: Emerald's clothing $50; Austin Futons $100, an evening of fun at the Carousel Lounge $100 (that's a lot of fun at the Carousel); and some of the joints: Hilton, Louie's 106, NW Vet Hospital, Toad Hall, Brio!, and Whole Earth Provision, among many others. 479-0817.
*Wheatsville Arts Festival, Sat. & Sun., Dec. 2 & 3, 10am-dusk, 3101 Guadalupe, features live tunes and 65 booths with hundreds of cool holiday gift/works of art from the woodworking, weaving, painting, metalworking, soaping, and kilning disciplines, and then some. 478-2667.
*The folks at Women & Their Work remind you that they have some swell (actually, their press release says, "wacky") gifts -- ceramics, glassware, lamps, cards, jewelry, and many hand-made contemporary goods -- perfect for the holidays.
