The Liar

Austin Playhouse continues its exploration of the works of David "Venus in Fur" Ives with the playwright's adaptation of Pierre Corneille’s 1643 screwball comedy. Hildreth England, Claire Grasso, Huck Huckaby, Lara Toner, Ben Wolfe, and more are directed by Don Toner. Feb. 7-March 9. Thu.-Sat., 8pm; Sun., 5pm. Wicked

The wildly popular musical about those two witches of Oz returns to make Bass Concert Hall sizzle with sensation once more. Music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz; book by Winnie Holzman; directed by Joe Mantello. Through March 9. Tue.-Fri., 8pm; Sat., 2 & 8pm; Sun., 1 & 7pm. $44 and up.

Add Women and Stir

If you didn't like The Vagina Monologues, you may have mixed feelings about this new show styled as The Cunt Chronicles. It's from those irrepressible Dramazons and covers issues dealing with sex, relationships, body image, the mechanics of womanhood, and everyday "coming of rage" honesty. March 7-9.
