Cinema Touching Disability: Call for Entries

Screen It Like You Mean It

Austin Studios has a state-of-the-art screening room, which is available to the public on a rental basis. Community and indie rates are available for the room, which sports an 18-foot-by-7-foot screen, 28 fixed theatre seats, and a surround-sound system and supports Super 35, 35mm, 16mm, VHS, and DVD formats. Accessible, restrooms – the works. It also has a break room suitable for presentations, meetings, and general cinematic tomfoolery.

Texas Filmmakers Production Fund: Call for Entries

This year's application will be entirely online, and entries are open to all filmmakers who reside in Texas, free of cost. The Austin Film Society will be hosting free application workshops during April and May in several cities across Texas. See website for details. Deadline: June 1.

The Commander-In-Chief: The Ultimate Badass Filmmaking Frenzy

The Alamo Drafthouse and Badass Digest asks filmmakers to consider the possibility that Lincoln (as in, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, coming soon) wasn't the only president who moonlighted as an ass kicker. Pick a U.S. president from any era and pair him with one of the alternative occupations provided, then write and produce a parody trailer for the film about that ass-kicking President and post it on the Badass Filmmaking Frenzy site.
