Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, marks my hire date at this publication in 1993, a two-decade love affair with Sixties idealists, beloved newsprint, and Austin music. My first night was spent at the Austin Motel, first meal eaten at the Hole in the Wall, and first show taken in at Antone’s on Guadalupe. Hearts, all.
For this personally momentous lover’s rock holiday, I’ve played matchmaker.
