“You better hold your lover down,” reflects Thurston Moore on 2011’s
Demolished Thoughts. The somber solo LP evokes the Sonic Youth guitarist’s break from bandmate Kim Gordon after 27 years of marriage in a tremendous disc that melds progressive UK psych-folk with muted, no wave intensity. His touring ensemble lists Hush Arbors guitarist Keith Wood, harpist Mary Lattimore, Samara Lubelski on violin, and drummer John Moloney of Sunburned Hand of the Man. Charalambides’ Christina Carter opens.
