This Nashville via New York state trio turned heads in 2013 with their Brendan Benson-produced debut Howl. The Brothers slay fake folk of the Mumford variety with string band country and blues that’s raw and eminently accessible. Second disc Trouble, due next month, surely focuses this appearance. Its songs expand the howlers sound into Cajun territory and solitary troubadour stylings, while retaining an indie edge that’s occasionally stormy, other times jubilantly lighthearted.
