The Chevin, Bloc Party

Wed., Dec. 12, 2012, 10pm

2015 E. Riverside, 888/512-7469

British quartet Bloc Party’s been in more video games than it’s had albums. Fourth disc, Four, retains the same drama. Guitars and drums wrapped up in surgical strikes, frontman Kele Okereke’s a bundle of nerves; you might even catch a banjo or two. It’s rare that big-ticket indie rock survives hiatus, ego, and mediocre solo projects, but Bloc Party emerges intact. Upstart indie poppers the Chevin open. You get the feeling the Leeds fourpiece grew up wanting to be like Bloc Party. – Luke Winkie
