214 E. Sixth, 512/473-8381

With three members hailing from different cities, Spanish Gold doesn’t exactly have a home, but their Austin date serves as a hometown gig for Adrian Quesada. In his highest-profile project to date, the Brownout and former Grupo Fantasma guitarist returns flanked by My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick Hallahan and former Hacienda frontman Dante Schwebel. Ostensibly a power trio, the dudes in denim were bolstered by backup singers, keys, and a bassist on a recent Late Show With David Letterman appearance, bringing to life the soulful borderland between blues and rock & roll on last month’s debut South of Nowhere. – Thomas Fawcett
