Sunday, March 18 – the last night of South by Southwest 2012 – the Shins taped Austin City Limits and Alejandro Escovedo serenaded the Continental Club. Far north at the Travis County Expo Center, the Austin Rodeo wheeled out its main stage into the bull ring, and there appeared Glen Campbell. The 76-year-old Rhinestone Cowboy continues a victory lap marking five decades of entertainment now coming to an end with Ghost on the Canvas and a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. Campbell came off slightly spacey, but “Galveston” and “Wichita Lineman” were deeply moving, and his picking “Dueling Banjos” with his daughter blew the lid off the place. – Raoul Hernandez
