FI Fan Fest w/ Lupe Fiasco
Lupe Fiasco’s 2006 debut, Food & Liquor, cast the Chicago MC as the golden boy of backpack rap, a hipster five-percenter who rapped about poverty, the nation of Islam, and, most famously, skateboarding. “Kick, Push” made a man out of the boy wonder, but popularity waned. 2007’s The Cool flopped, and 2011’s Lasers took a riot outside Atlantic Records to see daylight. Food & Liquor follow-up, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, dropped in September. – Chase Hoffberger
