“John Fahey. Leo Kottke. And most of Chet Atkins. Chet Atkins is a huge influence of mine.” So noted Atlantan six-string virtuoso Kaki King when asked to name some of her guitar deities (revisit Earache! music blog “Turn the Other Cheek,” Oct. 31, 2008). A gifted instrumentalist, the petite guitarist opened her mouth and, to the surprise of some, sang aloud on that year’s Dreaming of Revenge, yet with 2012’s sixth LP, Glow, King let her fleet fingers do most of the talking. You won’t be when your jaw drops open. – Raoul Hernandez
