There’s a grace to this event, perhaps just in timing, but definitely in purpose. A year after the local drummer’s sad, unnecessary death, this tribute to Bill Maddox’s life and birthday benefits the SIMS Foundation. Among those local high beams turning on for this are Eric Johnson, Jimmie Vaughan, Omar Dykes, Grady, and Jake Andrews, plus not-to-be-missed appearances by the Chevelles and what’s sure to be a bittersweet set by Johnson’s Electromagnets, starring Chris Maresh, Kyle Brock, Stephen Barber, and Chris Layton.
