Beach Slang, Dave Hause, See Through Dresses

Beach Slang frontman James Alex seems forever 17, awkward and earnest like each show’s his first. His Philadelphia fourpiece combines jangly lo-fi and power-pop, yielding a reckless, teenage passion. Drawing from an obvious love of the Replacements and a hopeful Eighties rock sound, the set follows the release of a stripped-down EP, We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags, under moniker Quiet Slang. – Libby Webster
