Allen Toussaint
Few musicians remain so thoroughly synonymous with the music of New Orleans as Allen Toussaint, 73. Composer, arranger, producer, pianist, accompanist, and occasional singer, Toussaint put his indelible stamp on dozens of hit songs that helped define the Crescent City sound. His influence now reaches far beyond the Gulf Coast, the ivory trader having worked with Sir Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, and countless others. His stature as a living legend is second to none. Two shows, 7 & 9:15pm – Jay Trachtenberg
