Houston’s Hazardous Zombies and Dallas’ Soul Power Crew lead a 20-act BBoy breakdown boasting dancers from all over the U.S. and three continents. Fifteenth anniversary events run throughout the weekend, but the Sabbath’s the main event, with crews competing for BBoy supremacy while ATX DJ Chorizo Funk and an arsenal of crate diggers lay down the tightest breakbeats in town. Expect performances from local rap icon Bavu Blakes and Monterrey, Mexico, spitter Serko Fu, as well.– Chase Hoffberger
Ohio-born, Austin-based, Heartless Bastards have gone from the brash, unapologetic rock of 2005 debut Stairs and Elevators to the rhythmic and vocal polish of 2012’s Arrow. Front larynx/lyricist Erika Wennerstrom continues to thrive on the remnants of her roots reinvention with the unflinching blues rock of the band’s power trio past. Her deeply personal tales provoke the uneasiness of seeing your own features in somebody else’s self-portrait.– Nina Hernandez
