REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Wed., Dec. 27, 2000
This is the movie that, rightfully, catapulted both Tim Burton and Paul Reubens (aka Pee-wee Herman) into the superstar arena. A shambling adventure, this movie is more a strung-together series of skits than a sustained narrative, but the perversely comic charms of the director and star shine among the guffaws.
