Valley Girl

Directed by Martha Coolidge. Starring Nicolas Cage, Deborah Foreman, Colleen Camp, Frederic Forrest. (1983, R, 95 min.)

REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Wed., Aug. 16, 2000

This is one of the great teen romance movies: It’s Romeo and Juliet played out between an L.A. punk rocker and a Valley girl. Nicolas Cage has hardly ever been more soulful than in his performance here, and as the hippie parents Colleen Camp and Frederic Forrest are a genuine hoot.
