This is the one and only (even though there are plans afoot - with different talent - to make Death Race 3000). This is director Paul Bartel and writer Robert Thom at their most deliriously twisted, and producer Roger Corman at his most visionary. The story involves a car race in a futuristic society in which the idea is to mow down pedestrians. A pre-Rocky Stallone and the always divine Mary Woronov (Eating Raoul) make this road rage comedy an eternal delight.
