Harold and Maude
1971, PG, 90 min. Directed by Hal Ashby. Starring Ruth Gordon, Bud Cort, Vivian Pickles, Ellen Geer.
REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Thu., July 15, 1999
A cult favorite, this black comedy pairs a 79-year-old swinger with a suicidal 20-year-old. They go to funerals and philosophize together in between Cort's humorously staged suicide attempts. Cat Stevens provides the tunes.
