Paper Chairs presents the touring version of this popular show of backwoodsy, homicidal, musical Americana – written by Elizabeth Doss, scored by Mark Stewart, directed by Keri Boyd, and featuring Kelli Bland as The Sherrif among a lively cast of ne'er-do-wells and slaughtered innocents. "Part slapstick exorcism and part ramshackle hoedown, this play investigates the many ways and whys we carry out a death sentence." And when we say "touring version," we mean it's fixin' to turn some of your favorite Texas watering holes into dens of foot-stomping, theatrical iniquity. Two Austin performances: Tue., July 15, 9pm; Cheer Up Charlie's, 900 Red River. Thu., July 17, 9pm; The Longbranch Inn, 1133 E. 11th. $5-10.
