Bill Callahan, né Smog, whose impressive streak of high-art LPs continued last year with the gorgeously spacious Dream River, plays a rare hometown show to benefit Austin Bat Cave, a nonprofit providing multi-discipline writing workshops for children. The baritone-voiced poet connects deeply – quietly – onstage, though at a Bat Cave workshop in 2012, the renowned introvert led an unforgettable train-wreck of a session.
