University of Texas Dept. of Radio-Television-Film: Longhorn Denius Showcase 2014

Sixteen of this year’s best student films will screen. One of them – "Skunk" – was just selected to show in competition at Cannes. The graduate student films include "My Sister Sarah" by Elizabeth Chatelain, “Housekeeping” by Catherine Licata, “Skunk” by Annie Silverstein, “Once Again” by John Moore, “Something to do With Love” by Matthew Koshmrl, “Ain’t No Ho in Me” by Jay Hubert, “Rehearsal” by Tom Rosenberg, “Hole” by Qian Zhuang, and “I Rot a Poem” by Philip Hoover. The undergraduate films are “Evidence for Santa” by Mei Makino, “Confession” by Adam Brandenburg, “Smoke Ring” by Haley Anderson, “Shooting” by Ivan Ovalle, “Where Were You” by Chad Werner, “Ned’s Rocket” by Kennedy J. Baruch, and “Pine” by Dylan Carter. free

  • Chaddick Dance Theater: Turned Inside Out

    This spring fundraiser in the new CDT space features a live dance performance by the company and the screening of a new dance film by Jonathan Stranger. And, of course, drinks and noms and much camaraderie. Sun., April 27, 5-7pm. 2412 E. Cesar Chavez.

  • Much Ado About Nothing

    The ever-intrepid Present Company Theatre presents this beloved Shakespeare comedy by performing it on the rooftop of Downtown Austin's Whole Foods Market. It's a production of many exceptional moments. Through May 11. Fri.-Sun., 6:30pm. Donations accepted
