TV at the Alamo: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series

Simultaneous with its debut on the El Rey Network, the first episode of Robert Rodriguez's TV adaptation of his successful 1996 film will also be shown on the big screen. Following this special premiere screening, Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League will moderate a Q&A with Rodriguez and various cast members who will be in attendance.

    Cattle-roping and bull-riding, livestock contests, carnival fun, and kid-friendly events are just a few of the things putting you in a countrified mood. Loretta Lynn, Dwight Yoakam, the Temptations, and Willie Nelson are some of the many headliners.   • South by Southwest

    You might have heard of it. In fact you probably won't be able to avoid it as every venue and square foot of open space is filled with bands you've probably never heard of. Seriously, check your couch, there might be a musician there. However, if you can find parking (or take a train or bus or bike) there's some of the best people watching in the world right here this week. There's also a good chance you'll run into a party that doesn't require any kind of credentials and still has great performers playing. Through March 16.

  • The Rawk Show Art Exhibit

    Nathan James, Austin's one-man booking machine who turned our annual Pride into a destination fest is getting back to his roots, curating the art of rock. Not simply posters and marketing designs, but visual art created by artists associated with rawwwwk, like: Nicole Steen (The Pop Tarts), Inger Lorre (The Nymphs), Christy Kane (Hazard County Girls), Jarboe (The Swans), Jeormie Journell, Jill Emery (ex-Hole), and more. March 6 to 15, 7pm.
