Although filmed at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival, this documentary is more interested in being an art film than a jazz film with its images of the water and the audience and the passage of a day. Still, it features such musicians as Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Jack Teagarden, Dinah Washington, Mahalia Jackson, and many others.
9:50PM, Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz, 320 E. Sixth
