Kickstart Your Weekend With Indie Van Game Jam

Part travelogue, part game jam, all indie

Kickstart Your Weekend With Indie Van Game Jam

There are a lot of moving parts to this project by Austin-based Binary Solo.

It's partially a travelogue webseries, in which Chad Stewart and Zeb West journey to eight indie game developers in eight cities across the U.S. and share their stories. It's partially a game jam, in which the guys try to make a game in the style of each of the aforementioned studios. But, as the title specifies, perhaps the most important part of this moving puzzle is the van: They need a place to code, a place to play, and a way to drive all over North America – from Boston to Chicago to "maybe across the maple curtain" to Canada, even.

And yeah, it totally has to be a van. As they point out, "Indie Honda Civic Game Jam" sounds pretty lame.

That's where you come in. Binary Solo launched a Kickstarter campaign to try to raise funds for their adventure: for filming, for food, for fuel, for editing. You can get access to advance screenings along the way for contributing, but anybody will be able to download the game jam games as the episodes air.

Still trying to make sense of it all? Check out their pitch video below and all the backer rewards over here. They have until Wednesday, Nov. 6 to raise $46,000 try to get this show on the road – literally.
