Power hungry
Two things that could affect the way we live, work, play, and pay for power are up for discussion this week. Tuesday, the
Zoning and Platting Commission will hear a briefing on the
Imagine Austin Comp Plan. Then on Wednesday, the
City Council will chew over
Austin Energy's proposed
rate increase at a special meeting.
Council members will create a work session schedule for more AE rate talks, direct the
city auditor to review AE’s
revenue requirement, and hear an update on the utility’s
billing system fiasco. The fun starts at 10am at City Hall.
On the ZAP track, commission members asked for the Imagine briefing to get a handle on how the comprehensive plan would affect residents living in the far corners of the city and folks who live in areas without an adopted neighborhood plan. ZAP meets at 6pm Tuesday in City Council chambers.
