APD Preps for Party
In anticipation of a double dose of Halloween revelry on Sixth Street, Austin Police want to remind you where you can park and what you can wear downtown this weekend.
APD says it is expecting Halloween party people to gather on Sixth Street for a double dip this weekend, first on Saturday, Oct. 29, and again on Monday, Oct. 31. As such, they've announced a number of street closures, which will begin at 6p. A map of those closures can be found here.

Also, the police would like to remind ghouls and ghosts to leave firearms at home, along with their "relics," swords, knives, clubs, and "sharp or pointed items."

And, in keeping with the bloodthirsty nature of Halloween, APD will also be enforcing its so-called "no refusal" policy – meaning, if you get popped for drunken driving and refuse to blow, you'll likely find yourself subject to a court-ordered blood draw. No refusal runs from Friday through Monday, from 9p to 5a. Consider yourself warned.
