And now for a bit of good news: So far, the Austin Humane Society and Bastrop Animal Shelter have reunited 170 families with pets lost during the raging wildfires. Still, there are plenty of pets – some recovering from burns and fire-related injuries – still seeking their owners.
As such, the AHS' main adoption center will remain closed through Sunday, Sept. 18, as advocates tend to the animals and facilitate more reunions. If you're looking for your pet, you can search online here and here.

Owners can also visit the AHS shelter at 124 West Anderson Lane to search in person, 9a to 7p, Monday through Saturday, and from 9a to 5p on Sunday.

Meanwhile, however, the shelter is teaming up with Anthropologie at 601 North Lamar Blvd. for a special off-site adoption extravaganza, on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 12-4p.

For more information visit the AHS here.
