The holidays are here already. There's folks to see, hands to shake, necks to hug, and much digestion lies ahead. Heck, we even got Dandy Unicorn a special holiday feedbag filled with all the traditional fixins, because even unicorns like to slurp up some gravy! XBRMNT gives thanks for the music that helps keep us sane through the holiday family grind.

1. "Goin' Home Tomorrow" - Little Richard This 'mo was whippin' his hair before Willow was even a wink in Will and Jada's eyes. Here he laments leaving his lover in the Fats Domino classic, but you get the idea.
2. "Who Likes Nick McKenna?" - Car Stereo (Wars) Austin's own mash-up master put out one of my favorite road trip records back in '07. Download the whole thing for free here.
3. "Bluewater" - Special Consensus Bluegrass favorite Greg Cahill and company. This song is guaranteed to keep your thoughts of home sweet.
4. "Get Older" - Matthew Sweet Times change but most of the folks back home stay the same.
5. "Late Night Grande Hotel" - Nanci Griffith Just a reminder. It's usually best to check into a room instead crashing on Mom's couch. A Cactus Cafe legend, Nanci Griffith's classic record is high on my list of faves and she's gorgeous in this video.
6. "Keep the Car Running" - Arcade Fire Self explanatory title.
7. "All You Can Eat (And You Can Eat It All Night Long)" - Candye Kane Bisexual former adult film star and Blues howlin' mamma wrote this song about late nights at Ruby's BBQ. Check her out live in this clip.
8. "Disconnecty" - Grandaddy OK, you've been home a day. You're ready to disconnect and head back.
9. "Don't Go Back to Rockville" - R.E.M. On the way back, play this tune to remind yourself why you waited so long to go home in the first place. Love this very vintage live version of the Athens kids playing this classic.
10. "Let's Go Get Stoned" - Joe Cocker Holiday done, grub eaten, family seen. Get your ass back to Manic Monday and celebrate! Enjoy this Betty Boop cartoon verson of the Ashford & Simpson classic first made famous by Ray Charles.

XBRMNT spins songs like these and much more every week at Chain Drive's Manic Monday at 10pm.
