A gay couple from Texas creatively bypass marriage inequality using the interwebs.
Video from a gay wedding conducted over Skype is going viral. Thomas Mark Reed and Dante Karl tied the knot in the first ever gay “e-marriage.” The ceremony was held in ‘not so gay-marriage friendly,’ Dallas, Texas but was put on the books in Washington, D.C., where same-sex marriage is still legal, via Skype. There are concerns surrounding whether or not the validity of the practice will be challenged in court. Reed told the Dallas Voice that coverage of their story is a good thing because it can change people’s hearts and minds when you put real faces on stories about couples in love. He said it’s important to do anything to find creative ways around inequality. According to the article, "he’s been fighting The Dallas Morning News – thus far unsuccessfully – to print their announcement in 'Weddings' instead of in another section called 'Commitments.'”
