Road Trip: H&M to Open in Dallas

Hennes & Mauritz, otherwise known as H&M to legions on a budget who emerge with armloads of goodies, is finally opening a Texas store. Currently known for "fast fashion", the Swedish chain has more than 2000 stores in 37 countries, 200 of them in the U.S., but not so much as a South by Southwest pop-up shop for scorned Texas provinces.

Dubai got their store in 2006. Well, now road trips are being planned all over town to venerable NorthPark Center in Dallas. Opening in the summer of 2011, the 24,000 square-feet frock-mart answers a long-fervent prayer for shoppers who, since 2000, when H&M opened its flagship bargain paradise in New York City, have had to work visits into itineraries on vacation.
