Look Who's Back in Town
Turbo Fruits will be playing the Mohawk (inside) this Thursday
By Derek Van Wagner, 12:08PM, Tue. Dec. 11, 2012
After recording their most recent album, Butter, at Public Hi-Fi studio with Spoon's Jim Eno, Turbo Fruits are back in Austin and are ready to roll...and rock. The rambunctious quartet has been on a country-wide tour since November and Texas is one of their last stops.
Turbo Fruits blend styles from punk, surf and garage rock and surprisingly enough, they still use dynamics! Their distorted guitars, unrelenting rhythm section and catchy, digestible lyrics form a colorful sound that is a hell-of-a-lot of fun to listen to. Plus their bass player's name is Dave Tits.
There is something contagious about their energy, so the smaller the venue, the better. If you haven't seen Turbo Fruits before, I'd say the inside stage of the Mohawk is the spot to do it. They'll be there this Thursday, doors open at 8pm, $10 and Sweet Talk will be opening. Grab $8 tickets here
