Oh, Hai! We Can Has BRNNR BLG?

In which your reporter stakes his pan-Chronolog claim

Apres moi, le delusion ...
Apres moi, le delusion ...

Howdy, stranger.

Or maybe we already know each other. Maybe it's really "Howdy, friend!" I should be saying, shouting it over that one MGMT song that I like to make my cat dance to whenever it comes up on Pandora.

In any case, welcome to the BRNNR BLG – thanks to Adrienne Martini for the title, btw – wherein I'll be reporting on whatever's going on in the ATX that I've been assigned to report on, or that I'm otherwise interested in, or that just happens to run itself athwart my life's somewhat chutes-and-ladders path.

There'll be interviews and previews. There'll be photos of interesting things around town. There'll be essays and opinion pieces. If you know me on Facebook at all, you'll know pretty much what to expect – but here it'll usually be at greater length, with better links, and it'll be much less … ah … much less random.

I'll be reviewing things, too: Art shows, food events, graphic novels, prose novels, parties, stage plays, movies, websites, performance art, brands of chocolate, fancy liqueurs, the odd bit of tech gear, and pretty much whatever goodnesses make their way over the Chronicle transom and find themselves on my coffee-stained desk.

Yeah: Goodnesses, specifically.

Because, listen, I don't write negative reviews of anything. Or, at least, I very rarely write negative reviews of anything. Partly, just a little, because I don't need the stress in my dealings with our local community. But mostly because I think it's pretty fucking stupid to waste my time talking about ill-conceived and/or poorly rendered shit that isn't worth anybody's attention.

You with me so far?

If I don't mention something in this blog, it doesn't necessarily mean I hate the thing; it might just mean that I've not gotten around to it yet, or maybe it wasn't bad at all, really, but neither was it sufficiently notable to cobble words together for the Chronicle-amplified pimping of.

You dig?

Excellent. Let's get started.
