1. Because Avery 7 is a sharp new anthology of short fiction
that'll provide a solid morning, afternoon, or evening
of reading whenever you desire.

2. Because, you know Junot Diaz?
Well, we don't mean personally, necessarily,
but, like, you know his fiction, right?
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, for instance?

Right – then you know what a fierce craftsman,
what an excellent talespinner he is.

And you'll be pleased to note that Diaz chose,
as the winner of Avery's second Small Spaces Prize,
the story "The Quiet Hunt" by Benjamin Reed –
which is included in this newest anthology, along with
a sweet gallery of other literary treats.

3. That same Benjamin Reed, abovementioned?
Will be at this party, mingling and signing copies of the issue.
As will the issue's excellent illustrator, Abi Daniel.
And a few other locally sourced habitués of Avery House.

4. This gathering, open to the public, isn't at Avery House, of course.
That's because Avery House is a corporate entity; it's a concept.
No, this gathering, open to the public & with beer flowing
all gratis down your parched throats, is at Domy Books.

5. Yes, Domy Books.
Like you need another excuse to go there, right?

6. Wednesday, August 24, 6-8pm.

7. HUZZAH!
